Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Kahil Gibran

"We hold in our arms the rising generation. They come to this earth with important responsibilities and great spiritual capacities. We cannot be casual in how we prepare them. Our challenge as parents and teachers is not to create a spiritual core in their souls but rather to fan the flame of their spiritual core already aglow with the fire of their premortal faith." Did You Find Your Treasure?:Luker Family Yard Sale

This is my motorcycle hott mama face!
Isn't Bobby a STUD muffin?
The Luker Girls coming out of the time machine
Danny received 10 out of 10 for his Olympic debut of aerobic style exercise
The mohawk mailman

This weekend we helped Mom McNeal and her brothers and sister with a family yard sale of Grandpa and Grandma Lukers things that family did not want since their passings. We sure had fun rummaging through years of "buried treasure". Uncle Ken got a can of "fruit galaxy" aka 45 year old dried fruit cocktail and mixed it with some boiling water just so that he could try it. He finally convinced Uncle Gord to try it too. Cousin Jenn and I were sick to our stomachs and cousin Kevin said, "What they used to be boyscouts, they'll be fine." To which we all laughed.
MaryAnne and Christine found Grandma's dresses and went into the "time" machine to try them on. They convince Aunt Ellen to join their fun parade.
Danny found some old hats and even found some use for the aerobic machine and porta potty as "Olympic Sports".
Uncle Gord went back in time to his youth as he pushed the push lawn mower but he said that back in "his day" they didn't have the catcher.
Us women enjoyed watching the men banter back and forth about the pricing and about how to make the best sale.
Oh yeah and who can forget the mail man with the mohawk?
All and all it was fun to be together with the family!

To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.

Families are Forever

"When you come to the temple you will love your family with a deeper love than you have ever felt before. The temple is about families... And it doesn't stop there. It extends to parents, brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, forebears, and especially our grandchildren! This is the Spirit of Elijah, which is the spirit of family history work; and when inspired by the Holy Ghost, it prompts the turning of the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers. Because of the priesthood, husbands and wives are sealed together, children are sealed to their parents for eternity so the family is eternal and will not be separated at death." Elder Richard H. Winkel of The Seventy Ensign November 2006
