Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Kahil Gibran
"We hold in our arms the rising generation. They come to this earth with important responsibilities and great spiritual capacities. We cannot be casual in how we prepare them. Our challenge as parents and teachers is not to create a spiritual core in their souls but rather to fan the flame of their spiritual core already aglow with the fire of their premortal faith." Elder Neil. Andersen Quorum of the Twelve Apostles LDS Church

Things I'm Learning About Pregnancy...PICKLES
Having a mother who has six sisters, being a nanny, babysitting a TON growing up and now being at a stage where many of my friends are at the age of motherhood, I've been around A LOT of pregnant women. I've been there for the mood swings, the insatiable cravings, the blubbering about how their pants don't fit anymore, and the constant need to see what's on sale in the baby section no matter what store you're in. I thought I'd be different. I'd be the best pregnant wife! Hahaha. Oh dear....I saw a cartoon today where the wife is standing next to the stove crying and her husband asks her why. She says, "The water is just taking too long to boil." I've felt that way some days. It's ridiculous but true. OR at night when I'm finally in his arms and the tears just flow for no reason other than I'm just glad that the day is over. I dunno. And then there is this thing with PICKLES I had the first jar and it was wonderful so I bought two more and they were gone by the end of the weekend. I was devastated. Luckily I had cucumbers that I made into homemade pickles to last me. And then today I went to Sam's club and I found HEAVEN! PICKLE JARS!!! Anyways the not fitting pants and need to shop for the baby will have to be worked on another day but my craving for pickles has been quenched for now and I am HAPPY!

To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.
Families are Forever
"When you come to the temple you will love your family with a deeper love than you have ever felt before. The temple is about families... And it doesn't stop there. It extends to parents, brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, forebears, and especially our grandchildren! This is the Spirit of Elijah, which is the spirit of family history work; and when inspired by the Holy Ghost, it prompts the turning of the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers. Because of the priesthood, husbands and wives are sealed together, children are sealed to their parents for eternity so the family is eternal and will not be separated at death." Elder Richard H. Winkel of The Seventy Ensign November 2006

ReplyDeleteI had 2 pickles while pregnant with Xander. The first tasted SO GOOD, that I immediately had another. . . Then I threw it up and that was it. No more pickles for me.
